The 45st Transportation Battalion was deployed to provide command, control, staff planning and administration supervision over the employment of several army transportation (CH-21) light helicopter companies and one aviation company composed of U-1A Otter aircraft. Besides the planning and supervisory duties, it also was responsible for overseeing maintenance, logistical and medical service for its assigned and attached units. Its assets were used to form the 145th Aviation Battalion.

54th Transportation Battalion (Motor Transport)

The 54th Transportation Battalion had capabilities similar to those of the 6th Transportation Battalion. The battalion served at Qui Nhon, where it was subordinate to the 8th Transportation Group. In February 1969 it was posted by the group to Cha Rang.
57th Transportation Battalion (Motor Transport)

The 57th Transportation Battalion had capabilities similar to those of the 6th Transportation Battalion. The battalion served with the 500th Transportation Group at Cam Rahn Bay initially but was moved north to Quang Tri under the U.S. Army Support Command, Da Nang in March 1968 and later served with the 5th Transportation Command. In April 1969 it went to Chu Lai under the 80th General Support Group and to Da Nang in 1971.

The 58th Transportation Battalion was assigned as Aircraft Material Management Command on 15 April 1966 with the mission of providing the supply and maintenance function for all army aircraft in Vietnam. The battalion was located at Saigon until February 1968 when it was posted north to Da Nang, though it remained under the 34th General Support Group throughout its service in Vietnam. On 20 February 1968 the battalion ceased its role as AMMC and reverted to providing direct, back-up and general support maintenance to aircraft, armament and avionics equipment supply support in I Corps Tactical Zone.
71st Transportation Battalion (Terminal)

The 71st Transportation Battalion had general capabilities similar to those of the 10th Transportation Battalion. The battalion served under the 4th Transportation Command and U.S. Army Support Command, Saigon at Long Binh and at the Saigon-Newport complex during its service in Vietnam.
124th Transportation Battalion (Motor Transport)

The 124th Transportation Battalion had capabilities generally similar to those of the 6th Transportation Battalion. The battalion was stationed in the Pleiku vicinity where it served under the control of the 8th Transportation Group and the 4th Transportation Infantry Division. In August 1970 it moved to Chang Rang under the 8th Transportation Group.
159th Transportation Battalion (Terminal)

The 159th Transportation Battalion had responsibilities over lighterage and stevedore functions. The battalion served with the 5th Transportation Command at Qui Nhon and was assigned to the U.S. Army Support Command, Da Nang upon activation and posted to Vung Tau 1 April 1969. It transferred to Cat Lai after 7 January 1970 upon the phase down of Vung Tau. It also served with the U.S. Army Support Command, Saigon during its service in Vietnam.
394th Transportation Battalion (Terminal)

The 520th Transportation Battalion was organized to provide army aircraft maintenance and supply support, aircraft recovery, aviation electronics and armament support requirements in the northern portion of III Corps Tactical Zone. The battalion was stationed at Phu Loi under the 34th General Support Group throughout its service in Vietnam.
Formed from the provisional battalion created in April 1964, the 765th Transportation Battalion directed general, direct and back-up support in areas of airframe, engines, aircraft systems, armament and all navigational and communications equipment for the southern portion of III Corps Tactical Zone and all of IV Corps Tactical Zone. The battalion was stationed at Vung Tau under the 34th General Support Group for the duration of its Vietnam service.
